Performs a variety of Dietary job tasks to provide three nutritional meals daily to Assisted Living unit (ALU) and Health Care unit (HC). Under direct supervision of Dietary supervisor that will assign all dietary job tasks to be preformed on each shift. All tasks must be followed and completed on each shift. Dietary job tasks include preparing items for meal periods, maintaining housekeeping, sanitation, and safety, tray line assembly and tray accuse, serving Assisted Living residents restaurant style from select menus. All dietary job tasks are subject to change related to the needs of Dining Services Department.


• Properly greeting all residents and guests.

• Adherence to all sanitation and food handling protocols.

• Adherence to all safety policies & procedures and regulatory authorities.

• Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents’ rights and employee confidentiality are protected.

• Assuring that all dining services protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

• Proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures.

• Attendance and participation in in-service training (IST) programs.

• Reporting of all hazardous conditions or equipment.

• Reporting of all accidents / incidents.

• Prepare and maintain records, reports and paper work regarding facility operations.

• Maintain quality level of service.

• Attend meetings as necessary.
• Performance of other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed.

• Responsible for assigned station, and it's respective duties, on the resident tray line. All tasks are to be completed accurately.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the ALU kitchen as well as the tray line area in the main kitchen.

• Treat Health Center residents with dignity and respect and ensure their satisfaction with our dining program.

• Accurately prepares nourishments for the Nursing Unit and the Assisted Living Unit.

• Adhere to proper dietary procedures to include sanitation standards, accuracy in following menu extensions and proper portion control.

• Wears a clean and complete uniform every day.

• Reports to work on time as scheduled.

• Accurately logs food temperatures for the Nursing Unit and the Assisted Living Unit, for each meal service.

• Attends all mandatory meetings that are held by the Dietary Manager and the Director of Dining Services.

• Responsible for accurately setting up trays for the next meal service and properly setting the tables in ALU.

• Adheres to all state and federal health regulations in the execution of assignments.

• Complies with the rules, policies and guidelines of Westminster at Lake Ridge.

• Follows additional requests as instructed by the Nursing department and the Dietary Manager on the residents' behalf.

Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS (Includes education, experience, knowledge and abilities, certificate or Licensure requirements):

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language

• Good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills.

• Must be a detail oriented person and be able to perform duties with great accuracy each day

• Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends as assigned.

• Must be able to interface with people at all levels and with residents in a positive and professional manner.


Scheduling requirements are five shifts per workweek that includes every other weekend. Shifts and Hours may vary based on department needs and/or Dietary Manager request. All schedule requests must be in writing and approved by Dietary Manager. Attendance and Tardiness policy and produces must be followed at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Includes vision, language, hearing, range of motion, lifting capacity, sitting/standing, etc.):

• High-level sensory requirements (speech, vision, taste, smell, hearing).

• Majority of time spent walking and carrying objects.

• Considerable time spent bending, reaching, and lifting.

• Must be knowledgeable of correct procedure for lifting and carrying tray of plates, glasses, and utensils, up to 40 pounds.
